In 3e (as in the previous years of 5e and 4e), mathematics lessons are organised on the basis of 3h30<\/strong> each week, the same number of hours as history-geography<\/a>. This is fewer hours than French<\/a> (4h), science & technology<\/a> (4h30) and modern languages<\/a> (5h30). In 3e, the mathematics curriculum consolidates the knowledge acquired throughout the coll\u00e8ge years.<\/p>\n As in previous years, the curriculum is organised around 4 key areas<\/strong>:<\/p>\n By the end of 3e in mathematics, students will have studied these 6 key dimensions<\/strong>: inquiry and experimentation, modelling, representation, reasoning, algebraic calculation and communication. Although the emphasis is placed on reasoning and proof<\/strong> in this final year of coll\u00e8ge.<\/p>\n 3e students must acquire knowledge of numerical calculation<\/strong>, have a grasp of statistical study<\/strong>, recognise geometric shapes<\/strong> (flat or otherwise) and use axial or central symmetry<\/strong>.
