In the 3e class, French is taught for 4h each week<\/strong>. This is fewer hours than modern languages<\/a> (5h30) and science & technology<\/a> (4h), but more than mathematics<\/a> and history-geography<\/a> (3h30). As the final class of cycle 4<\/a>, students will need to consolidate their knowledge \u2014 particularly to pass the brevet exam.<\/p>\n As with other coll\u00e8ge classes, the 3e French curriculum is organised around 4 key areas<\/strong>:<\/p>\n By the end of the 3e year, students must be able to sort information from a speech or oral presentation, and improve their speaking skills in terms of delivery, expression and organisation of ideas. In reading and understanding written text<\/strong>, they will need to demonstrate independence across all literary registers, in order to identify the main themes, as well as interpret intentions and objectives.<\/p>\n In written expression<\/strong>, they will need to be able to organise, detail and clarify their ideas, adopting a suitable writing style and tone, and illustrating their points with examples.
